THE SECOND season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs. The World” had just premiered and we all knew Marina Summers as the Drag Queen to represent the Philippines.
But who exactly is Marina Summers?
Growing up in Nueva Vizcaya in the Philippines, young Marina Summers had always known what she wanted to be.
In an interview with Teen Vogue in 2022, the superstar shared a story of when she was younger—when her mother scolded her for wearing clothes that were made for women, during a school event.
She recalled how her mom used to say, “it’s okay to be gay, just don’t wear women’s clothing.”
While the world wasn’t ready to see her perform her art, it didn’t stop her from thriving as she continued to unleash her talent in 2019 and was a performer at the Nectar Nightclub in Taguig back in 2020.
Marina later joined “RuPaul’s Drag Race Philippines” season 1 in 2022, where she ended up as first runner-up.
Aside from unleashing her talent in doing drag, she also explored the music industry with her songs on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
On January 13, 2024, it was announced that Marina would be one of the contestants of “Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK vs. The World’s” second season.
For her “Ru Paul’s Drag Race” debut, Marina looked stunning in her Katipunera-inspired fit.
