LOOK: The original SexBomb members, where are they now?

by Izel Abanilla

GET get aw!

The SexBomb Girls generated buzz recently when they appeared in an ad for Netflix, with netizens clamoring for their return, or at least of their campy afternoon show.

Just who are these girls?

Back in the ‘90s through the early 2000s, when social media had not eaten up everyone, people had an old school pastime, which is watching noontime television shows. If you grew up at that time, chances are, you danced to the hip-breaking hits of the SexBomb Girls.

The  SexBomb Girls, who popularized very infectious dance hits like “Bakit Papa,” “Spaghetti Song,” “Halukay Ube” and “Di Ko Na Mapipigilan” among many others, eventually pursued individual showbiz careers.

The group was originally composed of four girls when it was formed in 1999 under the name Chicken Sandwich Dancers. But founder and former manager Joy Cancio was able to put together a bigger group, which debuted on the long-running program “Eat Bulaga” and became known as the SexBomb Girls.

Their name was inspired by singer Tom Jones’ hit “Sex Bomb.”

The girls became such a huge hit that their noontime show stint eventually paved the way for a successful afternoon series, “Daisy Siete.” It ran from 2003 until 2010, with a total of 26 seasons.

The original members have since parted ways and are now focused on their individual lives and careers. Some are still actively seen on television.

Let’s look back at some of the original members of the SexBomb dancers and see where they are today.

  1. Rochelle Pangilinan

For years even after she left the group, Pangilinan remained to be the face of the SexBomb girls. When she departed from the group in 2007, she continued with her acting career and appeared in a number of Kapuso shows. These include “Amaia,” “Encantadia,” “Broken Vow,” “Darna,” “Show Me Da Manny,” and “Ilumina.”

Pangilinan is now married to fellow actor-dancer Arthur Solinap and together they have one daughter named Shiloh Jayne.

  1. Aira Bermudez

Aira Bermudez is the only SexBomb member who lasted from 2000 all the way to 2017 and is still doing reunion gigs with the girls from time to time. She also assumed the role of the manager of the group since the departure of Cancio. Aside from her life as a SexBomb girl, she also has an impressive online presence because of her dance tutorials.

She is married to Ronald Inovero.

  1. Jopay Paguia

Jopay Paguia is one of the most famous members of the group. Besides being a dancer, she is best known for having “chubby” legs.

Mia Pangyarihan is recognized as one of the sexiest members of the group. She is now a successful business woman who owns a chain of restaurants.

  1. Izzy Trazona-Aragon

Many say that Izzy Trazona-Aragon does not seem to age at all. Indeed she still looks as youthful as when she was during her heyday as a SexBomb dancer.

She is married to StarStruck Season 1 Avenger Alvin Aragon and together they have four kids.

She, too, is very much visible on social media, especially on Tiktok.

The fresh-faced Che-Che Tolentino is also another hit social media superstar. Apart from doing occasional gigs with the girls, she teaches dance on her channels and is a certified zumba instructor.

  1. Sandy Tolentino

Sandy Tolentino, the sister of Che-Che Tolentino, remains active on social media, especially on Tiktok. She recently got engaged.

  1. Sunshine Garcia

Sunshine Garcia switched networks and jumped to ABS-CBN after her stint with the Sexbomb Girls. She became a mainstay of the gag show “Banana Sundae.” She also got featured on the cover of FHM magazine.

She is married to actor-politician Alex Castro and together they now have two kids.

  1. Weng Ibarra
