by Joyce Remo

BLACKPINK members once again proved they are global icons!

The internationally-celebrated South Korean girl group BLACKPINK had been the talk of the town after the four superstars met and had their photo taken with the President of France.

Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa were seen posing with French president Emmanuel Macron and first lady Brigitte Macron after attending a charity event that the latter hosted.

Concert for charity

Prior to the photo opportunity with the President, the award-winning girl band performed at the pre-recording of the Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes charity concert on January 25.

The concert was aired at the France 2 channel on January 28 local time.

During the concert, BLACKPINK performed its top-charting single Pink Venom with internationally-renowned cellist Gautier Capuçon.

The quartet also hyped the crowd as they performed Shut Down with award-winning violinist Daniel Lozakovich.

According to the French first lady, the ticket sales for the charity event will be donated to the French Hospital Foundation. She also welcomed BLACKPINK’s presence during the celebration.

“It is very welcome to have BLACKPINK, who has great influence all over the world, to join us in such a meaningful event,” she said.

In December 2022, BLACKPINK also held a two-day concert at the Accor Arena in Paris during its Born Pink World Tour. Tickets for the girl group’s concert were sold out in the first few hours, with over 20,000 attending the event.

World Tour

BLACKPINK started its Born Pink World Tour on October 15 in its home country’s capital, Seoul, South Korea.

This was immediately followed by the North American leg, where the members performed in various cities in different states including Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston, Hamilton, and Newark from October 25 to November 15.

During the tour’s European leg in December, BLACKPINK also visited London, Cologne, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, and Berlin.

The four-piece group has now brought its tour to Asia, starting off with Bangkok, Hong Kong, Riyadh, and Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will return to the Philippines as part of the world tour on March 25 and 26 and will be performing at the Philippine Arena.
