Lang Leav invites Pinoy fans to read new poetry book

by Joyce Remo

NEW Zealand novelist and poet Lang Leav launched a new poetry book in the Philippines ahead of its original release schedule.

In a reel posted on the author’s social media platforms, Leav surprised her Filipino fans with an announcement that her latest piece called Self-Love for Small Town Girls can now be purchased in a local bookstore.

Leav’s newest poetry book is supposed to be released on June 13.

“Hi to my Filipino readers! I have something so special to share with you,” Leav said in an Instagram reel.

“My new book Self-Love for Small Town Girls is available now at National Bookstore,” she added.

The book edition is only available in a limited print run, she further said.

Leav’s new title is “a collection of stunning poetry and prose that seeks to define the loaded question of what it means to be a woman in the modern world.”

It circles on themes, such as self-love, compassion, equity, and self-reflection.

The book is for women who seek to transform into the best and brightest version of themselves, according to a short blurb of the poetry collection.

Self-Love for Small Town Girls retails at P895 and can be availed through in-store at any National Bookstore outlet nationwide and via online purchases through its official website.

Leav added that she hopes to see her Pinoy fans again soon.

The Love & Misadventure author visited the country several times in 2014, 2017, and 2019 and held various meet and greet and book signing events in Manila and Cebu.

Some other works from Leav includes Lullabies (2014), Memories (2015), The Universe of Us (2016), Sad Girls: A Novel (2017), Sea of Strangers (2018), Love Looks Pretty on You (2019), and September Love (2020) among others.
