Kim Woo-bin to star in dystopian series ‘Black Knight’

South Korean actor Kim Woo-bin will star in the dystopian action series “Black Knight.” A teaser for the new drama was released by Netflix on Tuesday, April 11. 

It starts with Kim Woo-bin’s character introducing that the delivery men called “Black Knight” are the ones delivering the oxygen and necessities needed to survive the pollution.

As seen in the teaser, Earth has become polluted, and the Black Knights deliver oxygen by truck. Tension arises when an unknown man chases the Black Knight’s truck and an injured man attacks one of the delivery men.

The next scene shows Kim Woo-bin’s character using his tattooed QR code to enter a building, then going out into a sandstorm to deliver more oxygen.

Another clip shows cars driving fast, then Kim Woo-bin walking with other masked men. The next scene shows a clip of Son Seung-heon monitoring the delivery men.

According to What’s on Netflix, Black Knight is based on a webtoon by Lee Yoon Kyun. The series is directed by Choi Ui Seok, the screenwriter and director of Cold Eyes and Master

As for the cast, What’s on Netflix has only revealed Kim-Woobin, Esom, Son Seung-heon, Kang Yoo-seok, and Kim Eui-song.

The first season will be released on May 12, 2023. It was not immediately clear how many episodes the series would have.

About Kim Woo-bin

A model turned actor, Kim Woo-bin is known for his roles in the dramas The Heirs, School 2013, and Our Blues. He has been in a relationship with actress Shin Min-a since 2015.

In May 2017, the 33-year-old actor revealed he had been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer, which forced him to step down from projects and be exempted from the mandatory military service.

He was able to return to acting after recovering from the disease. Both his comeback movie, Alienoid, and his drama, Our Blues, were released in 2022.
