’It’s Your Lucky Day’ to take over ‘It’s Showtime’ slot temporarily

by Joanna Deala

A NEW variety show will temporarily bring fun and luck to viewers during noontime.

ABS-CBN announced on Wednesday that it will launch game variety show “It’s Your Lucky Day,” which will replace noontime variety show “It’s Showtime” while it serves its 12-day airing suspension.

“We invite viewers to welcome luck into their homes and experience fun and enjoyment with the family in ‘It’s Your Lucky Day,’” the network said in a statement.

“It’s Your Lucky Day” will be hosted by Luis “Lucky” Manzano, alongside Robi Domingo, Jennica Garcia, and Melai Cantiveros.

They will also be joined by special co-hosts and other celebrity guests, ABS-CBN said. It added that the show will be produced by the same team behind “It’s Showtime.”

“It’s Your Lucky Day” will offer a set of original game and variety segments.

ABS-CBN Entertainment also released a teaser of “It’s Your Lucky Day,” featuring its hosts.

In the 45-second video, young stars Andrea Brillantes, Kyle Echarri, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin were also announced to be part of the show as its “lucky stars.”

Joining them are comedians Long Mejia, Negi, Petite, and Divine Tetay.

“It’s Your Lucky Day” will air from October 14 to 27, Mondays to Saturdays, at 12 noon on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, GTV, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC.

The launching of the game variety show came after ABS-CBN decided not to appeal to the Office of the President (OP) the decision of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to suspend “It’s Showtime.”

The MTRCB based its decision on multiple complaints it received from viewers over the alleged indecent acts of hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez during the show’s July 25 episode.

But while they respect the regulatory body’s decision, ABS-CBN maintained that the variety show “did not break any pertinent law.”

It assured viewers that “It’s Showtime” will be back “stronger and better than ever” on October 28.

While several netizens have expressed their excitement for the forthcoming show, others said that they will wait for “It’s Showtime’s” return.
