ILONGGOS and visitors from different parts of the country converged in Iloilo City for the Dinagyang Festival 2024.

Held yearly on the fourth Sunday of January in Iloilo City as a tribute to the Sto. Niño (Child Jesus), the Dinagyang Festival has several activities, including a solemn foot procession, a float parade, and a tribes competition.

Celebrities like Carla Abellana and Jennylyn Mercado took part in the festivities as well.

In a statement, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the Dinagyang Festival ”is a reflection of the rich and colorful mosaic that make up all our indigenous groups, including the brave and enduring Ati people whom we also honor today.”

“Let the Dinagyang Festival serve as a reminder of our collective responsibility to preserve, protect, and promote our identity in these changing times,” Marcos said.

The Dinagyang Festival traces its roots to the 1960s.
