“I Want You offers fans the first taste of what’s to come musically from the duo in 2023, as it puts the finishing touches on its forthcoming new album. As civilization slipped into lockdown, Caroline and Aino left Los Angeles and returned to Stockholm to quarantine. Soon after, they found themselves back in the studio “where it all started.”

Conjuring a sweet sentiment of nostalgia, it also pushed them to re-engage with their electronic and alternative roots, but this time from an evolved perspective with years of experience behind them both as proven performers and accomplished chart topping songwriters.

We got back to what we love,” Aino affirms. “It was the quietest period we’ve experienced in ten-plus years, so it’s crazy we made such danceable music. We felt the need to do something more up-tempo.”

Last year, Icona Pop graced clubs worldwide with the irresistible “You’re Free, (LISTEN) joined by legendary singer, songwriter, DJ, and producer Ultra Naté, paying homage to the1997 Billboard’s Dance Club Songs Chart #1 hit ‘Free.’

Preceding the release of ‘You’re Free’ was the 10-year anniversary of the duo’s hit single, ‘I Love It’ (feat. Charli XCX); commemorated witha re-imagining of the track by Caroline and Aino, alongside producers Osrin and Ellis. Listen to ‘I Love It (I Don’t Care 2022 Re-Edit)’ HERE.

Icona Pop continues to slay since the release of its 2013 full-length debut, This Is… Icona Pop, which garnered critical acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork and Rolling Stone as the duo performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonThe Today ShowGood Morning America, and America’s Got Talent, in addition to featuring on the iconic HBO series Girls and a popular Saturday Night Live sketch.

They canvased the globe on sold out tours with Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, and One Direction, and joined Tiësto for the banger ‘Let’s Go’ in 2014. ABOUT GALANTIS

Galantis is a collaborative project led by Christian Karlsson (aka Bloodshy, one-third of Miike Snow) that has received over four billion cumulative worldwide streams, and over one billion video views to date.

Pharmacy, Galantis’ debut album, topped the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart on the strength of RIAA Gold single “Peanut Butter Jelly” and the Platinum-certified, GRAMMY-nominated smash “Runaway (U & I).” 2017’s The Aviary (featuring Platinum single “No Money”) saw a top 10 debut in 23 countries. The third Galantis album Church features the chart-topping, now RIAA Gold certified, single “Faith” with country music icon Dolly Parton featuring Dutch singer-songwriter Mr. Probz.

More recently, Galantis teamed up with Little Mix and David Guetta on the 2021 RIAA Gold summer smash “Heartbreak Anthem” which debuted at #1 on the Worldwide iTunes charts, secured the #1 spot at UK airplay and Shazam charts, as well as spending thirteen consecutive weeks in the UK Official Chart top 10.

The story of Galantis started back in 2009. Working as Bloodshy, Karlsson’s songwriting collaborations have included Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry and Britney Spears (whose “Toxic” earned a GRAMMY for “Best Dance Recording”). This collaborative nature led to the birth of the Galantis project which had its live debut at 2014’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and has continued on years later as one of dance music’s most dynamic and in-demand live performers.
