ACTRESS and fashion icon Heart Evangelista and her husband Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero reaffirmed their commitment to each other by renewing their wedding vows.
The couple had an intimate ceremony attended by their family and close friends on Thursday, February 15, the same day that they marked their ninth wedding anniversary.
According to Harper’s Bazaar Singapore, the ceremony was held at Balesin island where they tied the knot in 2015.
In photos shared by the international magazine, Evangelista wore an elegant beige gown adorned with beadings and had a veil akin to a hood.
It said that the gown was the actress’ “personal request” to Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab.
Being the fashionista that she is, Evangelista continued to serve astonishing looks with her second bridal gown for the evening: a low neckline, fully beaded gown in Swarovski crystals with a cape. This was custom-made by fashion designer Michael Leyva, who was present at the ceremony.
In an Instagram post, Leyva congratulated Evangelista whom she described as a “beautiful bride.”
“You deserve all the happiness in this world because of your beautiful HEART,” the designer said.
Meanwhile, Escudero also radiated elegance in his all-white suit.
Evangelista shared several moments from the ceremony, including a clip showing her and her mom Cecile Ongpauco walking down the aisle. This, perhaps, made the ceremony extra special for Evangelista as her mom wasn’t able to attend her wedding nine years ago.
The mother and daughter were also seen sharing a hug during the ceremony.
The actress also had a duet with OPM singer Mark Bautista for the song “In Love With You.”
She also shared an Instagram reel showing spliced videos of her moments with her husband.
“Happy #chizheartchaptertwo,” wrote Evangelista in the caption.
It was in October 2012 when Escudero, a politician, revealed in an episode of “Kris TV” that he and the actress were exclusively dating. Their relationship, however, was not without challenge as Evangelista’s parents initially disapproved of their romance.
The two, however, went against all odds and got engaged in 2014.
