Han So-Hee warns fans about losing weight to fit harmful beauty standards

by Joyce Remo

SOUTH Korean actress Han So-hee has a gentle reminder to her fans about their well-being — that is to take good care of their health.

In the recent Instagram live by the My Name star, Han talked about several things happening in her life, including the movies and series she’s watching and the projects she’s involved in.

During the broadcast, she also talked about how she was craving some sweets, but that she can’t eat any as she’s currently on a diet for an forthcoming photoshoot.

“I have a photoshoot next week so I’m on a diet, but I want to snack so bad it’s driving me crazy,” said Han.

“If I can just keep from snacking, I can lose weight in a healthy manner but I just keep craving sweets.”

At this moment, an Instagram user confessed through a comment that she wants to become as thin as the actress.

To this, Han responded by emphasizing that being as thin as her isn’t healthy. She was only losing weight because of her career and she would want to maintain a healthy weight if not for her job.

“My career involves showing off how I look on the outside, and that is why I lose weight. If not for that, I would have also maintained a normal weight,” the World of the Married star explained.

She also told the viewers they need to take care of their health to be beautiful.

Han further said it would be great if the clothes they want to wear would fit their bodies perfectly, but she also hopes they don’t lose weight while damaging their health.

“You’re not pretty for being skinny. You have to be healthy to be pretty,” she stressed.

The actress also spoke about the toxic beauty standards in society. She noted that it is not right that someone’s beauty is defined by their weight and appearance.
