Filipina celebrities who are also CEOs

by Alyssa Luciano

THERE is nothing girls cannot do.

Many Filipino actresses have become known for their looks and acting skills. They have made their mark in the industry.

But some of these celebrities also dared to take on another role in their lives: that of being the own boss of their companies or businesses.

Over the years, they have taken time off from their tight schedule in showbiz to start their own businesses. They turned their passion, hobbies, and interests into an income-generating endeavor.

Here are some of the actresses who built their own name in the entrepreneurial world:

Marian Rivera

Marian Rivera, known for her iconic portrayals of Marimar, Dyesebel, and Darna, entered the world of business way back in 2017.

GMA 7’s Primetime Queen turned her love for flowers into her own business and named it Flora Vida by Marian. It is a flower shop which she personally manages.

The actress started her company with only a secretary to help her. But there were also times when her husband, Dingdong Dantes, pitched in.

What most people don’t know is that Marian is also the one who does the arrangement for the orders she receives. She would also add a hand-written letter, hoping that the receiver would feel the happiness she felt while arranging the present.

Kathryn Bernardo

Bernardo, who rose to fame as a child star, was able to show her talent portraying different characters. And with the revenue she had earned from her acting gigs, she put up her own business that focuses on one of her interests: nails.

The Kapamilya actress said she is very meticulous about the things to be used, the service provided, and even the vibes and interior of the salon.

Kathnails by KCMB was launched in 2017 and currently has eight branches in the country.

Every time Anne is off the cameras, she loves to play around with her cosmetic products. This led her to create her own line of cosmetics which she named BLK. It stands for black, which to her means “timeless, uncomplicated, classy, sophisticated, and simple”.

And her venture in the world of cosmetics has paid off as several makeup enthusiasts supported her brand and uses her products on a daily basis.

Anne and her business partner Jacqueline Gutierrez launched the makeup brand in July 2019 and in less than a year, BLK was named the Most Promising Brand in Watsons.
