GERALD Anderson said he is certain that he would like to spend the rest of his life with girlfriend, Julia Barretto.
But he is not yet ready to marry her now.
“It’s not true!” the Filipino-American dramatic actor said.
The Star Magic actor made this comment when pressed by reporters during a press conference announcing his upcoming movie ‘Unravel’ on Friday, January 6.
Reporters asked Anderson if it’s true that he and the 25-year old actress have secretly wed.
In a separate interview with ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol, Anderson said, ““Come on, guys, I wouldn’t ano, hindi ko gagawin sa inyo ‘yan. ‘Pag dumating ta’yo diyan, it’s nothing to hide, ‘di ba? At saka wala na ako sa edad na ‘yun.”
“Is she the person? Yeah! But you know, knowing me, ‘pag nangyari ‘yun, I wanna start a family right away, gusto ko tuluy-tuloy na,” he added.
The 33-year old actor said he wanted more time to prepare for the life expected of a family man.
“I’m in a position na I know na kahit anong mangyayari, maging settled ‘yung family ko. We’re almost there, but you know, ano pa, just a little more, konti pa,”
The secret wedding rumors sparked after former PBB housemate Joe Vargas’ wife, Bianca Yanga, intentionally gave Julia her wedding bouquet. The video went viral on Tiktok.
Barretto and Anderson appeared shocked, but titillated the wedding entourage of the prospect of having another celebrity wedding soon.
Speculations of Gerald-Julia secret wedding fanned when Barretto posted Instagram Reels of her wearing a ring on her ring finger.
The Gerald-Julia real-life romance was marred with controversy from the start.
Anderson had a relationship with another actress, Bea Alonzo. But based on the account of Alonzo, he ended their relationship by “ghosting” on. She insinuated, a third-party was involved, and showbiz rumor-mongers point to Alonzo.
After a year of speculation, Gerald finally confirmed his relationship with Julia in 2021 but stayed firm that there was no ‘third party’ that happened in his previous relationship.
