Former ABS-CBN exec says Liza Soberano should think first before speaking

by Izel Abanilla

A former ABS-CBN executive took an apparent dig at the recent revelations of Liza Soberano, advising the Kapamilya talent to choose her words carefully before she speaks. ‘

Ethel Espiritu, former Head for Dreamscape Digital Original Content Line Productions, issued a series of tweets that appeared to be in response to Soberano’s tell-all statements about her career with ABS-CBN.

Espiritu did not mention Soberano by name, but she referred to an interview that Bea Alonzo did with the person she was referring to. The latest blog of Alonzo, a former ABS-CBN talent, showed her interviewing Soberano, who made a series of controversial revelations.

“I think she should review and reassess before she opens her mouth, again. Personal career growth media release gone wrong,” Espiritu tweeted.

The intention may be good, but it may not always come out that way, she said.

“Andun yung magandang intention niya where we all agree-right comm plan lang and use of right words. Let’s not be careless lest we be misunderstood,” she added.

She then went on to reference Alonzo’s interview.

“Tsaka ako ito ha. If she really wanted to clear things out- it should not be Bea Alonzo to interview her. It’s not good for both of them-for obvious reason/s we all know,” she said.

Proper communication strategy is key

Espiritu said everything boils down to having a good communication plan.

“Regardless of timelines, bottomline na ata nito ay good comm plan strategy. Damage control,” she said.

Over the weekend, Soberano’s new revelations on Alonzo’s vlog became the  talk of the town once more.

During the entire interview, the “Alone/Together” actress underwent a legitimate Lie Detector Test to see if her body agrees with her statements.

Among her most talked about reveal was that the 2019 block-buster hit “Hello, Love, Goodbye.” which was a massive success for the experimental team up of Kathryn Barnardo and Alden Ricahrds, was in fact originally offered to her and boyfriend Enrique Gil.

And then while doing the series “Bagani,” Soberano learned that the movie was offered to Bernardo and Gil.

“That scared the sh*t out of me,” she said. “Why did they do that? I asked them to save the project for me and Quen.”

She also readily answered yes when Alonzo asked her if she felt pressured to keep up with the industry’s top love teams.

“I don’t see it as a healthy competition when money is involved,” she said.
