Cloudy, sometimes rainy in Visayas, Mindanao, MIMAROPA, Bicol

by Malou Talosig-Bartolome

THE first Sunday of February 2023 will be generally fair in most parts of the country. But sometimes, it may be rainy in the Visayas, Mindanao, MIMAROPA and Bicol regions.

State weather forecasting agency Pagasa said there is no typhoon in the country today, February 5. There is neither a Low Pressure Area nor Shear line that can ruin your weekend.

A bit of a caveat though: localized thunderstorms may still bring rains here and there in Visayas, Mindanao and some parts of southern Luzon.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon may bring cloudy skies over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. There may be light rains, too.

It’s also a good day to go out to sea. The sea condition is quite calm and Pagasa did not issue a gale warning for the entire country.

Temperature check

As the winds from the Northeast Monsoon weaken, the country may likely experience hot early afternoons today.

So don’t forget to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

Temperature high

Metro Manila may experience a high of 31°C temp. Yesterday, mercury rose to 31.7°C and 31.3°C in Pagasa weather stations at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay and at Science Garden in Quezon City respectively.

The highest temperature recorded yesterday were 33.4°C and 33°C in Cotabato City and Dagupan City respectively.

Heat was also to the 32°C roof in Zamboanga City, Dipolog City, Subic, and San Jose in Occidental Mindoro Saturday.

Today, Davao City and Zamboanga City may experience a high of 33°C.

TEMPERATURE LOW

As for the cooler range, Baguio City was still the coldest city recorded by Pagasa Saturday. But it was a bit warmer in the Summer Capital compared the past few days at 14°C around 4:5am.

The lowest Pagasa temperature forecast in Baguio for today, February 5, is 12°C.
