Cloudy skies, rains expected during BSKE, Undas

by Carl Santos

CLOUDY skies and rains may prevail across the country during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections and Undas holidays next week, according to the state weather bureau PAGASA on Friday.

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan), shear line, and a possible occurrence of a low pressure area will affect the entire archipelago from October 30 to November 3, PAGASA said in its special weather outlook.

Bicol Region, Visayas, Caraga, and Quezon province will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms from October 30 to 31 due to the combined effects of the shear line and LPA.

Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region will be mostly cloudy with light rains, while Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Ilocos Region will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon.

The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening.

From November 1 to 3, Quezon, Bicol Region, and Eastern Visayas are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the combined effects of the shear line and LPA.

Floods and landslides are possible in low-lying and mountainous areas.

Cagayan Valley and Aurora will have mostly cloudy skies with light rains, while Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and Metro Manila will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains due to the Northeast Monsoon.

The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening.
