BTS’ J-Hope to pursue military duties; set to release new hip-hop single

FOLLOWING the eldest member Jin’s footsteps, J-hope is set to begin his military service enlistment, as announced by BTS’ record label, BIGHIT Music.

Also known as Jung Ho-seok, J-Hope has reportedly initiated to start the enlistment process for his mandatory military service according to a WeVerse notice. The South Korean rapper also requested for the discontinuation of his enlistment postponement.

“We would like to inform our fans that j-hope has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement,” BIGHIT wrote.

More information about J-Hope’s enlistment will be released soon. In the meantime, the label wishes fans, also called ARMYs, for their continuous love and support for the BTS member’s activity.

“We ask you for your continued love and support for j-hope until he completes his military service and safely returns,” it added. “Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artist.”

Beloved Onlypans in Poblacion burns down

LAST Friday, May 3rd, popular Mexican restaurant Onlypans announced on.

According to South Korean law and traditions, all able-bodied men, whose ages range from 18 to 28, are required to serve the military for about two years.

However, South Korea’s parliament has passed a bill in 2020 that allows the seven members of BTS to delay their service enlistment until the age of 30.

The group’s eldest member, Jin, who is currently 30 years old, was the first BTS member to join this military imperative.

Meanwhile, J-Hope has recently celebrated his 29th birthday on February 18.

Other members Suga, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are also expected to join the military soon, following BTS’ earlier announcement that the members have agreed to fulfill their military duties this year.

J-Hope’s solo activities

Many fans were surprised by BIGHIT’s announcement since J-Hope has been actively pursuing his solo career.

A day before his birthday, video streaming site Disney+ has released the BTS member’s mini documentary series that features many candid moments during his preparations for his solo activities.

Moreover, the French luxury fashion house and company Louis Vuitton has recently hailed J-Hope as one of the brand’s new ambassadors.

New single out this week

Aside from the mentioned gigs, BIGHIT Music also revealed that J-Hope will be dropping a new single on Friday, March 3.

Following a WeVerse post, the label said that the BTS member wrote the song to express his sincere feelings toward his fans.

“J-Hope wrote the track to share his candid feelings toward his fans,” the label wrote.

The new track will narrate the rapper’s roots, “from which his dream to become an artist began, and the path the artist and fans will continue to walk together.”

With a street dance theme, this fresh music from J-Hope will be called on the street.
