Ariana Grande’s ‘yes, and?’ tops Billboard Hot 100

AMERICAN pop superstar Ariana Grande did not only return to the music scene but also to Billboard’s Hot 100, with her latest song “yes, and?” officially debuting at no. 1 on the chart.

“Yes, and?” is Grande’s eighth no. 1 hit to enter the Hot 100, according to Billboard on Monday.

The much-anticipated single was released on January 12, marking the singer-songwriter’s music comeback after four years since the release of her previous album “Positions.”

“Yes, and?” will be part of her seventh album “Eternal Sunshine,” slated for release on March 8.

Citing data from Luminate, Billboard said that the song has garnered 27.2 million streams and 24.8 million radio airplay audience impressions. It also had 53,000 sales from January 12 to 18.

The 30-year-old singer first entered the Hot 100 in 2018 for her hit song “thank u, next,” which reigned atop the chart for seven weeks. This was followed by “7 Rings” in 2019, “Stuck With U” with Canadian singer Justin Bieber, “Rain on Me” with singer-songwriter Lady Gaga and  “Positions” in 2020, “Save Your Tears” with The Weeknd in 2021, and “Die for You” with The Weeknd in 2023.

Billboard said that Grande now ties with Beyoncè for the eighth-most Hot 100 no. 1s among women soloists.

Based on the Hot 100’s top 10 for this week, “yes, and?” was followed by Jack Harlow’s “Lovin On Me,” Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” Tate McRae’s “Greedy,”  21 Savage’s “Redrum,” Zach Bryan featuring Kacey Musgraves’ “I Remember Everything,” Doja Cat’s “Paint The Town Red,” Teddy Swims’s “Lose Control,” SZA’s “Snooze,” and 21 Savage, Travis Scott and Metro Boomin’s “Née-nah.”

The pop superstar thanked her fans, known as Arianators, for supporting her and her new song. She said that such an achievement made her “so emotional.”

She relayed her message to her fans on Instagram, along with a behind-the-scenes video of “yes, and?” music video.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my fans, the most incredible angels in the world, for the love you have shown this song and me,” she said.

“It is overwhelming and so sincerely moving to see how many of you this song has resonated with and it is such a gift to feel so seen and held by you!” she added.

Grande dedicated her Hot 100 feat to Arianators.

“You have no idea how much you mean to me! This is absolutely because of and entirely for you. thank you!” she wrote.

The official music video of “yes, and?” has garnered over 26 million views on YouTube, as of writing.
