Arci Muñoz, Bailey May join Miss Universe Bahrain jury

by Izel Abanilla

BRINGING pride to the Filipino nation, actress Arci Muñoz and Filipino-British television personality Bailey May will help decide who will be the next Miss Universe Bahrain (MUB) 2023.

The two will be part of the Official Jury of the pageant, as announced by Miss Universe Bahrain on its official Instagram page.

The actress expressed her gratitude through a comment on the post.

“Thank you soo much for having me. This is such a dream!” she said.

Miss Universe Bahrain national director Josh Yugen gave back the love to Muñoz in a reply to her comment, saying he and the “entire team adores you.”

The MUB organization features an all-Filipino team led by Yugen of the Dubai-based Yugen group of Companies.

The rest of the jury includes philanthropist Sameerah Shah, content director Casey Fitzgerald, creative director Ahmed El-Nekhaily, Maldives’ Mirihi Island Resort general manager, Mohamed Shareef, beauty and make-up icon Vimi Joshi, Egyptian superstar Mai Omar, Smile Train Dubai country manager Afaf Meky, Moroccan actress and TV host Leila Hadioui,  and celebrity doctor Nader Saab.

Also part of the MUB council are Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa as head of empowerment. Host Raymond Gutierrez will serve as fashion director, film producer Joey Abacan as senior executive consultant and film director Brillante Mendoza as artistic director.

Evlin Abdullah Khalifa, who was crowned as Miss Universe Bahrain 2022, will be the head of culture.

Miss Universe Bahrain only began participating in the pageant world in 2021, with Manar Nadeem Deyani as its first winner.

Deyani, who stands at 5’1, broke pageant stereotypes as she was the shortest woman who competed globally that year.
