Ahtisa Manalo tops Missosology’s final hot picks for MUPH 2024 crown

by Joanna Deala

IN A FEW hours, a new beauty queen will be crowned as the new Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH).

While we have yet to know who the successor of beauty queen Michelle Dee will be, beauty pageant website Missosology has a name in its mind: Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon province.

Missosology revealed its final hot picks for Miss Universe Philippines 2024, with Manalo topping the list.

On its website, the pageant pundit said it predicted Manalo as the winner of the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant because of her “overall aura and vibe.”

“Miss Quezon Ma. Ahtisa Manalo is not really the rational choice for the crown. She didn’t even make it to the top in any of the previous Hot Picks. Her interview proficiency needs polishing and so is her catwalk skills. Her beauty is for Miss International not Miss Universe,” wrote Missosology.

It then stressed, “However, that overwhelming feeling that she’s ‘the one’ can’t be denied.”

Manalo won big at the 2024 MUPH preliminary gala night on Sunday, taking home eight special awards: Miss Smilee, Miss Fairy Skin, Miss iColorPlus, Miss Hello Glow, Miss Danielito’s, Queen of Hearts, Miss Aqua Boracay, and one of the three Miss Zonrox Color Safe.

Manalo is not a newcomer to beauty pageants. She started joining pageants when she was in Grade 4, according to her “Her Story” video for the MUPH 2024 competition. Prior to joining the MUPH competition, she was named Miss International 2018 first runner-up, after being crowned as Binibining Pilipinas International in the same year.

Before Binibining Pilipinas, Manalo also represented Quezon in the 2017 Reyna ng Aliwan Festival. She was named queen of the Niyogyugan Festival.

Other picks

Following Manalo in the final hot picks is Christi Lynn McGarry of Taguig. She exuded “elegance” on stage, according to Missosology.

Next in the list was Victoria Vincent of Bacoor. The pageant expert noted that “she lacks experience” but she can “handle minor international pageants.”

Missosology said Alexie Mae Brooks of Iloilo City, who landed on the fourth spot, “is already packaged as Miss Universe-ready” but “can shine in any international competition.”

Completing Missosology’s Top 5 is beauty queen Justine Tarah Marie Valencia, who is representing Baguio City in the national beauty competition.

The other picks are: Cebu’s Kris Tiffany Janson, Cainta’s Stacey Daniella Gabriel, Laguna’s Alexandra Mae Rosales, Palawan’s Raven Hate Doctor, Bulacan’s Chelsea Anne Manalo, Pampanga’s Cyrille Payumo, Zambales’ Anita Rose Gomez, Hawaii’s Patricia Bianca Tapia, United Kingdom’s Christina Chalk, Southern California’s Janet Hammond, Leyte’s Angel Rose Tambal, Mandaue’s Victoria Leslie Ingram, North California’s Kayla Jean Carter, Bohol’s Bianca Gaviola, and Cavite’s Deanne Marie Maté.

A total of 53 delegates are vying for the MUPH 2024 crown. The winner will be crowned at 8 tonight, May 22, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Aside from the MUPH title, four other crowns are at stake: Miss Supranational Philippines, Miss Charm Philippines, Miss Eco International Philippines, and Miss Cosmo Philippines. These four titles will have a separate crowning ceremony, which will be held after the May 22 coronation night.
