Bangsamoro Airways set to fly across BARMM region beginning April 24

Heads up travel buddies! Bangsamoro Airways, an airline based in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), will have its first flight beyond the region this Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

BARMM came up in a mission where lack of air transportation facilities was recognized as a major priority of need.

Composed of an established and experienced team of local aviation professionals that are starting to grow the opportunity, with the help of foreign individuals who also share the same vision and who are also dedicated to develop the region with common aspiration to build an intrinsic and cultural-based advocacy in aviation, introduces Federal Airways Inc., with Bangsamoro Airways as its trade name.  

Federal Airways Incorporated who operates the Bangsamoro Airways, aims to bridge the mainland BARMM to other island provinces with its mission to have accessible services, strengthen its bureaucracy and logistics, bolster the region’s economy, tourism, and employment, among others.

Chairperson Mohammad Pasigan, of Bangsamoro Board of Investments (BBOI) said, the initial route of Airways will fly in Zamboanga, Cotabato and Jolo, with six to ten passengers including the aviators.

The Airways has a plan to expand its route from Zamboanga to Mapun, and Basilan within the first year of operations from Cotabato to General Santos.

Moreover Pasigan, makes a point that the opening of operations of the Airlines will bring more investors to BARMM, resulting in continuous growth in investment. In addition, he shared that the Bangsamoro Airways can fly anytime and anywhere soon in nearby BARMM provinces, especially if needs arise, which encourages convenience and saves money for the travellers.

Furthermore, Chairperson Mohammad Pasigan highlighted the importance of upholding peace and order, to invite more investors.

“Our greatest help as Bangsamoro citizens is to make our region peaceful and safe for our investors,” he said, encouraging his fellow Bangsamoro residents to maintain a conflict-free region.
