Photos from Gypsy Blanchard murder case resurface; fans, horrified

BACK in 2016, Gypsy-Rose Blanchard shocked the nation after she and her boyfriend murdered her mother, Clauddine, or “Dee Dee,” as many knew her by. 

Following this, she was sent to prison for 10 years.

She was only 26 when she and her partner committed the crime. In December of 2023, she was released at 32 years old.

Why was this case so captivating? Because for years, Gypsy was a victim of Munchausen by proxy. This started when she was only three months old, wherein her mother was convinced that Gypsy had several health issues despite nothing coming up on any medical tests.

Her entire life, Gypsy was treated for several illnesses that her mother made her believe that she had. She would have to endure many intense and painful treatments, only to find out that surprise surprise, she wasn’t actually sick.

She had Gyps’s salivary glands extracted, for example, and would also grip her hand tightly any time Gypsy would allude in public that she wasn’t sick. As per HBO’s documentary “Mommy Dead and Dearest,” she would also hit Gypsy, sometimes with a coat hanger, and even tie her to a bed using a dog leash and handcuffs.

When Gypsy met a man online and tried to run away with him, Dee Dee smashed Gypsy’s computer and phone with a hammer, threatening to do the same with her fingers if ever she were to try it again. 

All of this and more led to Gypsy eventually planning out Dee Dee’s murder, done by her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn.

Gypsy has since made a name for herself online and has amassed thousands of followers on her social media accounts following her release from prison, as many believe that she shouldn’t even have been put in jail in the first place. 

However, as leaked photos of Dee Dee’s dead body have resurfaced online, many have started to rethink their support.

Yahoo Entertainment News reports that last July 27th, on Gypsy’s 32nd birthday, photos from the crime scene of Dee Dee’s murder started circulating on social media. 

It was shared via a link to a Google Drive and was allegedly taken from a Patreon which is owned by April Johns, otherwise known as “Fancy Macelli, who Gypsy currently has a legal problem with.

On TikTok, she explains that those photos were not leaked and have been public for the past nine years, particularly on Facebook and Reddit.

As per Yahoo Entertainment News, Gypsy, her father, stepmother, and stepsister, filed a lawsuit following her media partnership with Johns falling apart, on the grounds of defamation, fraud, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and false light.

They met back in 2017 while Gypsy was still in prison. Johns stated that she was the owner and a producer under Mad Ginger Entertainment, who wanted to make projects about Gypsy’s life. 

Gypsy and her parents thus signed a “Life Rights Option Agreement,” which gave Johns access to all evidence from Gypsy’s case, such as photos and videos from the crime scene and Gypsy’s private medical records.

Gypsy and her parents allege that no marketable content was ever made and that Johns became confrontational regarding Gypsy’s partner. 

Johns then alleged that the Blanchard family had been stalking her, which they denied.

Since this photo started circulating online, many have started to turn on Gypsy, stating that she should go back to prison.

“No way y’all made this disgusting human being famous, [the] Gypsy-Rose crime scene photos are horrible,” wrote one X user.

When someone asked what they would’ve done in Gypsy’s situation given the abuse she’d been facing, another user wrote: “I’d leave! Not be just as evil as her mom. [Two] wrongs don’t make a right.”

Meanwhile, others have continued to show support for Gypsy despite the sharing of these photos.

“Sorry but y’all will never make me feel any sort of sympathy towards Gypsy-Rose’s mom,” one wrote.

“Y’all will never make me feel sorry for a child abuser.”

Another said: “I don’t feel not one bit of bad after seeing Gypsy-Rose’s crime scene pictures… her mother birthed a perfectly healthy child and sickened her and held her from her real life all for some money. She was the one that f*cked with her mentality, look at the consequences.”
