YouTube has announced that handles will be added to the site starting November 14 to make it simpler for community members to communicate with one another.
In a statement, YouTube announced that every channel would have a distinctive handle, making it simpler for fans to find content and communicate with their favorite creators.
“Handles will appear on channel pages and Shorts, so they’ll be instantly and consistently recognizable,” YouTube said.
Users will be able to mention each YouTube creator in community posts and comments, thanks to their channel’s unique handle.
“It’ll soon be simpler and faster to mention each other in comments, community posts, video descriptions, and more,” it added.
Creators can choose their handles, or YouTube will choose one for them automatically. The handle that YouTube assigns can then be changed in YouTube Studio.
“We want to ensure creators can craft an identity as unique as their content while giving viewers the confidence that they are interacting with their favorite creators,” Youtube said.
