Sunshine, Cesar reunite for the holidays

All’s well that ends well, indeed. 

Ex-couple Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano are proof that years of conflict and indifference could still end in peace and unity.

The former couple spent the holidays together along with their children. Noticeably, Montano’s current partner Kath Angeles was also there. In past interviews, the award-winning actor said that communication between him and his ex-wife is open again. 

In fact, he said Cruz and his current partner are even closer to each other and talk more than they do. 

And so on Facebook, Cruz posted photos of a holiday dinner that Montano and Angeles hosted for their family. 

“Cesar and Kath, thanks for hosting tonight’s dinner,” she said. 

“The girls and I had a wonderful time chatting and catching up with all of you. We’ve missed Bohol and masaya kami na nakasama namin kayo dito sa New Year celebration. Happy to see my dive instructor Holger Horn too! Once again, Happy New Year everyone from our family to yours,” she said.

Apart from Montano, Cruz and Angeles, their children Angelina, Samantha and Franchesca, Diego Loyzaga, Montano’s son with actress Teresa Loyzaga and the rest of the actor’s kids were present at their New Year’s dinner. 

“We are a family”

In a previous interview, Cruz said she was glad that “maayos na ang lahat, nagkakasundo” because after all, “we are a family.” 

She said that she had an amicable settlement with Montano and his partner regarding their family set up. 

Cruz and Montano separated in 2013 and even faced each other in a legal battle. They have been estranged since. 

However, an indication that they are now at peace with each other first surfaced in August last year with a family photo of them together during their daughter Samantha’s 18th birthday. 

Since their separation, Cruz vowed to love herself more.
