THE northeast monsoon will continue to bring cloudy skies with rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and northern Quezon today, so don’t remove that umbrella from your bag yet.
Flash floods or landslides are possible due to moderate to at times heavy rains, and caution is advised, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said Saturday.
But there is no low pressure area anywhere near the country. There is little chance that there will be a storm in the next three to five days in the Philippine area of responsibility, according to state weather forecaster Daniel James Villamil.
The rest of Northern Luzon will have light rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be warm and humid with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
The Visayas will have generally fair weather conditions with isolated rains showers or localized thunderstorms.
Mindanao will continue to have cloudy skies because of the intertropical convergence zone, which is a belt of converging trade winds, and will have a higher chance of rain in the afternoon and evening.
The CARAGA region experienced thunderstorms Saturday morning, but the skies are expected to clear up before noon. But the rains may return in the afternoon and evening due to localized thunderstorms, said Villamil.
Gale Warning
Several areas in the country will have rough to very rough seas because of the northeast monsoon, according to the state weather bureau.
Waves may be as high as 4.5 meters.
A gale warning is up in the following areas:
Fishing boats and other small sea craft are advised not to venture out into the sea, while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.
Coastal waters
Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to rough coastal waters and moderate to strong wind.
Mindanao will have slight to moderate coastal waters with light to moderate wind.
Temperature check
The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 32 to 24 degrees Celsius, while for Laoag and Tuguegarao it will be from 29 to 22 degrees Celsius.
Baguio will be chilly with the temperature ranging from 23 to 16 degrees celsius, while in Tagaytay, it will range from 30 to 21 degrees Celsius.
Legazpi’s temperature for today will range from 31 to 26 degrees Celsius, for Puerto Princesa 32 to 25 degrees Celsius, and Kalayaan Islands 32 to 26 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in Cebu will be from 31 to 25 degrees Celsius, Tacloban 32 to 25 degrees Celsius, and Iloilo 31 to 26 degrees Celsius.
For Zamboanga, it will be from 32 to 24 degrees Celsius, and Cagayan de Oro and Davao 31 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Visayas forecast
