Expect colder days ahead, says Pagasa

THE next few days will get colder.

The shear line affecting Visayas and some parts of Mindanao and the Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon will cause light to moderate rain showers in the country, the state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its weather forecast Monday.

This means the country will experience colder weather than the previous days.

Weather Specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the Eastern Visayas, Surigao del Norte, and Dinagat Islands would have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms. At the same time, the Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Palawan, and the rest of Visayas and Caraga will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms also due to the shear line.

The said areas are likely to experience possible flooding or landslides due to heavy to intense, at times torrential rains, the state weather bureau said.

Localized thunderstorms may cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the rest of Mindanao, Pagasa said.

Meanwhile, Aurelio said no typhoon or low-pressure area is being monitored in the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
