‘Ok na po kami’ letter in Alex G issue becomes a meme

MANY netizens were outraged that waiter Allan Crisostomo had to write a letter to say all was well between him and TV host Alex Gonzaga after she apologized for smearing icing on his face.

Critics said the letter was unnecessary and demeaning. 

But some netizens also found a way to inject some humor into the situation. 

After Crisostomo’s letter saying he and Gonzaga were okay went viral, several brands hopped on the trend and issued their own version of the letter. 

But unlike Crisostomo’s letter, their versions generated laughs instead of angry reactions. 

Angkas, a ride-hailing app, took the opportunity to create the promo code “OKNAPOKAMI,” apparently inspired by Crisostomo’s words. 

It shared the promo code in its own version of the letter where it said passengers could get P25 off their bill if they use the code. 

GCash, an e-wallet app, also joined the trend of spoofing the controversial letter, and took the opportunity to remind its users to pay their bills on time.

Viu Philippines, the KDrama streaming platform, also shared its version of the handwritten promotion inspired by the viral apology letter.

Its letter is about a child making up with their mom who interrupted their Kdrama viewing session.  

The Dessert Museum, a famous tourist attraction, also parodied the letter as a way to promote the place. In this case, the apology came from somebody who used their friend as a photographer during the visit to the museum. 

Even singer-songwriter Juan Karlos Labajo did not miss uploading his own version of his apology letter.

In Labajo’s official Facebook page, he shared a handwritten apology to announce that he would release a new song soon.
