SOUTH Korean rookie girl group NewJeans has teased fans with its first comeback four months after its debut.
In a December 11 tweet, NewJeans’ official Twitter account announced the group’s return with the pre-release track “Ditto,” which will be released on December 19 at 6 PM (KST)
Meanwhile, the album “OMG” will be released on January 2.
NewJeans is a fourth-generation girl group under ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE Entertainment. The group is composed of five teenagers, namely, Minji, Haerin, Hanni, Danielle, and Hyein.
They debuted on July 22 with the hit song “Attention.” Their first EP was released digitally on August 1 and physically on August 8.
Their Y2K-inspired outfits seem to compliment the group’s age and aura and invokes nostalgia to fans and viewers alike.
NewJeans also received praise for their unique talent and visual.
During the physical release of their album, NewJeans sold 262,815 copies, breaking several girl group debut records in South Korea.
The group currently has 6,697,722 monthly listeners on Spotify, and its song “Hype Boy” has 133,190,551 streams on the music streaming platform.
