An additional 155 immigration officers have been deployed to airports in anticipation of more travelers this upcoming Holy Week.
These immigration officers were assigned at the Clark International Airport and Terminals 1, 2, and 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, according to the Bureau of Immigration on Friday.
“We have deployed additional personnel to service travelers during the Holy Week (April 2 to 8), when we expect a significant rise in travelers,” said BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco.
The agency projects that around 40,000 passengers will arrive and depart the country daily, starting next week.

The BI has prohibited its port personnel from going on leave for three weeks to ensure that adequate officers are available to serve the traveling public before, during, and after the Holy Week break.
Tansingco said the ban on leave, which started on March 24 and will end on April 15, applies to BI employees assigned at the NAIA and all the other international ports nationwide.
“We have to see to it that our immigration booths at the airports are fully manned in order to cope with the long queues of passengers who will be arriving from or leaving for abroad to spend time with their families and relatives,” he said.
