Manifestation: Can it help make changes in your life?

EVER had anyone tell you that when you want something, you can have it?

Such encouragement is pretty normal from family and friends. But what if you could really design your life exactly the way you want it and possess everything you dream of having, including the wealth you desire and the love you crave?

This concept has been running around for centuries, but it was only in 2006 that the world was openly introduced to the age-old idea of a universal law claiming we can all intentionally create the life we desire through the documentary film The Secret

The 1 hour, 30-minute film revealed the ultimate secret to a limitless existence – the law of attraction.

What is the law of attraction?

By definition, the law of attraction is encapsulated in three words: thoughts become things.

It argues that positive thoughts and actions reap positive results, and vice versa. Basically, whatever the mind conceives gets manifested in reality.

Bryson Bonsol, a certified manifestation coach, a happiness teacher, and the founder of Be Blest Training and Formation Center, said manifestation simply means “everything is possible.”

“Kayang mangyari in this lifetime, in this physical time, ‘yung kasi ang ibig sabihin ng manifest, something to do with hands. Kaya mong magawa,” he told republicasia.

Creation is done the moment you thought of it

Bonsol explained that every version of reality we could think of already exists in the universe, and we only need to tap into that version we want so we can manifest it into reality.

Simply put, the moment a thought is conceived in the mind, creation is already done. This means there is already that version of yourself living in that dream house, having that money in the bank, driving that car, being married to that person, healing from that illness, and living the best life.

In contrast, you could be in a poor state, alone if not trapped in an unhappy relationship, ill, homeless, or even jailed.

So regardless of circumstance, one only has to rest in the vibration of having instead of lacking and in the desired reality, by virtue of the laws of the universe.

Circumstances do not matter

Online, we see coaches teaching how to get an ex back, manifest large amounts of money, or heal oneself from illnesses. But noticeably, their ways don’t involve physical intervention but simply manifestation.

This means, all the work is done in the mind.

In the face of an ex dating someone else, barely making ends meet, or a doctor saying one is left with months to live – by changing one’s mindset and focusing only on the desired reality, things manifest.

This is because, according to these experts, “circumstances do not matter.”

Bonsol explained that this is so “because things can change.”

“You can always change/edit your reality, beginning with your mind. Also, if you can observe, this present moment is our ‘past manifestation.’ So just keep on believing that things change, and they will,” he said.

Does manifestation fail?

The concept of manifestation for so many people is still too vague. Even if many already buy into the idea that attracting everything you desire is possible, “failing” to manifest for others casts doubt on the truthfulness of the law of attraction.

Bonsol, however, explained that if desires don’t come into fruition, it does not mean the law of attraction or other laws of the universe are untrue, but rather, failure to manifest is solely credited to the person’s lack of belief that he can achieve everything he desires despite the circumstances.

“Ang nangyayari kasi pag hindi natin nakukuha yung gusto natin, then we doubt our manifesting power. Pagka hindi nangyayari ‘yung gusto mo at the present moment, sa palagay ko hindi lang yung manifestation ‘yung may issue dun eh, if it’s not working, it’s the person not trusting,” Bonsol said.

“It’s the person not completely surrendering. It’s the person not ready to receive,” he added.

He explained that circumstances indeed do not matter because, in the game of manifestation, it is the vibration that dictates the outcome of his manifestation. Because the universe responds only to vibration, the external situation is irrelevant.

“Are you vibrating in a state of lack or in a state of abundance,” he said.

Manifestation is an energy game

On YouTube, many law of attraction coaches teach techniques on how to manifest. Ever heard of vision boards, dream notebooks, or daily positive affirmations? These are the most common manifestation techniques we hear from these coaches.

But what people usually don’t understand is that techniques do not manifest, it is the vibration and the energy behind them. In fact, manifesting without a technique is possible so long as a person is in the state of having it, even if circumstances show him otherwise.

The belief that all of one’s desires are already his brings peace and calmness, which detaches a person from being desperate to see an outcome.

“May gusto ka and then ‘pag nareach mo yung certain moment na you’re totally detached from it, from having it and wanting it, you create the path of least resistance, biglang dun mag-fall into place yung mga gusto mo mangyari and kadalasan mas maganda pa,” Bonsol said.

“While we want something, be-do-have to happen, make space for the universe to surprise you,” he added.

In fact, the more a person gets obsessed with techniques, the more he creates resistance, Bonsol said.

One living witness to the power of the law of attraction is 35-year-old UK nurse Grace Piorque.

From mundane things to totally bizarre ones, she was able to manifest her desires effortlessly, even almost instantly.

Among her common manifestations is her ride to work, which always shows up even if she runs late on schedule.

“Kasi nag-co-commute ako dito sa work, so pag sinabi kong gusto kong maabutan ‘yung bus, naabutan ko talaga ‘yung bus,’’ she said.

What’s more intriguing is what happens when she utters her favorite expression, “time stop” or “time slows down.”

During days when she would wake up late and still complete her routines despite time constraints, she would still make it to her schedules because time, as she uttered, “slowed” down.

One time, she took the advice of her coach and tried to play with manifestation.

“I tried to manifest ‘yung isang doctor dito, sana makasabay ko siya at makita ko siya dito. Ang nangyari hindi ko lang siya nakita nakasabay ko pa siya for lunch as in tinest ko lang. Nag-lunch siya kung saan kami nag-lunch which is very unusual kasi hindi siya nag-lu-lunch doon,” she told republicasia.

So far, her biggest manifestation has been watching her favorite K-pop group.

She once told herself specific things that she intended to experience at the concert of her favorite K-pop group.

First, she would watch it in the Philippines, second, she would score cheap airline tickets and a sale hotel room in Manila in one of the most prestigious hotels; and lastly, she would have her moment with the group despite the legions of fans trooping to the concert venue.

True enough, everything she declared came true. Her leave was approved despite high volumes of applications because it was springtime. She was able to purchase round trip plane tickets for 600 Euros with a 25 kilogram baggage allowance and a hotel room at the Conrad Manila for an affordable price.

She got to see the group prior to the concert because they both landed in Manila at about the same time.

During the concert, she was able to find the spot she said she wanted to be at exactly, by the barricades, where she was able to exchange high fives with the boys and even get to interact with them.

In her case, she did not need techniques and was not at all pressured to see the outcome of her desires. She simply sets out her intentions to the universe, and it just happens.

“Mostly kasi ang nangyayari sakin naiisip ko, ‘ay gusto ko ‘to’ and nangyayari talaga siya effortlessly,” she said.
