Mall owners begged Vice Ganda for a Christmas movie to boost sales

Truly unkabogable.

There seems to be no doubt about the bankability of comedian Vice Ganda, as mall owners even sat down with him to convince him to make a Christmas movie to help boost sales of various stores in the malls.

Vice Ganda himself revealed this during his thanksgiving media conference on Wednesday for the success of his movie “Partners in Crime,” an official entry to the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival.

The power of Vice

But the film industry needed a boost, and they turned to him for help by asking him to make a film fest movie.

Without movies, it’s not only cinemas that will lose revenue, but also other establishments such as food and retail outlets, he explained.

This is because watching movies brings not only one person to the mall, but families and groups of friends as well, thus leading to more sales.

The organizers of the Metro Manila Film Festival happily announced that despite still reeling from the pandemic, the festival reached its P500 million target gross sales with “Partners in Crime,” “Deleter,” “Labyu with an Accent” and “Family Matters” leading the box office.
