MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 5.3 earthquake rocked various parts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces in Luzon Wednesday.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the earthquake of tectonic origin happened around 1:05 pm with the epicenter located at Tinaga Island, Camarines Norte at a depth of 001 km.
Intensities 1 and 2 were mostly felt in Metro Manila cities and nearby provinces. Intensity 4 was felt in Camarines Norte, Guinayangan, Polillo and Quezon while Intensity 5 was felt in Mercedes, Jose Panganiban and the rest of Camarines Norte.
While authorities have warned of possible aftershocks, no damage to life and property has been recorded yet.
