Kris Aquino says she’s ‘finally on the correct path to remission’

QUEEN of All Media Kris Aquino expressed gratitude to all those who prayed for her recovery as test results revealed an improvement in her health and that she is optimistic that she will be in “remission” in the next 10 to 12 months.

On Instagram, the actress-TV host made yet another lengthy post detailing why she is positive she is well on her way to recovery.

Aquino shared that her attending physician gave her double the dose of a biological injectable that’s not available in the Philippines yet to “help lower my very high IgE.”

According to the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, IgE or Immunoglobulin E are antibodies produced by the immune system when it overreacts to an allergen in the event of an allergy. These antibodies tend to travel to cells that release chemicals, causing an allergic reaction.

She said her doctor called her a “bad-ass” for enduring the painful procedure and its aftermath.

“Yes, matapang na ko sa halos lahat ng kailangan pagdaanan at mataas ang pain tolerance ko,” she said.

“It’s the AFTERMATH, 72 hours feeling kagaya nung bigat after a Covid vaccine but x3. Yes, parang 3X akong na Pfizer or Moderna. This will be every other week, optimistically for me to reach “remission” over the next 10 to 12 months,” she said.

“This will be every other week, optimistically, for me to reach ‘remission’ over the next 10 to 12 months,” she expressed.

Good news for the actress’ family and supporters, her blood panel has shown progress, which made her say she is, now more than ever, on her way towards a better, healthier life.

“Thank you because our prayers are being answered- my last blood panel showed improvement- it’s slow progress, I have a long way to go…” she said.

“It’s likely that after a few months another medication will be introduced to my body by UCLA’s Dr Belperio- BUT I AM, against all odds (because of all my limitations with medicinal options), FINALLY, ON THE CORRECT PATH TO REMISSION and A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE,” she added.

She ended her post with gratitude, “Thank you to all. THANK YOU, GOD.”

She clarified at the end of her statement that autoimmune diseases have no cure, but life threatening damage to the patient’s organs can be managed or prevented if diagnosed and treated early.

Ex Mark Leviste declares support

Despite their recent breakup, Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste, who is seen in one of the photos uploaded by Aquino, still declared undying support for his now ex-girlfriend.

He made a short but very meaningful comment on Aquino’s post that still reflected his love for her through the words he used, which are reminiscent of wedding vows.

“Kids and I will always be by your side…for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish FOR[E]VER,” he said.

Just when everyone thought the actress had found her match, their seemingly enduring love had to end. Just last July, Aquino admitted that, besides her condition, she did not want to be an obstacle to Leviste’s political career.

The politician flew to the US to personally assist Aquino with her medications. Aquino has been in the US since last year to seek treatment for various autoimmune diseases.
