‘Heartstopper’ Season 2 hits Netflix in August, may feature Taylor Swift song

THE long wait is over! The second season of the well-loved gay series Heartstopper will finally hit the screens next month.

And it may even come with a Taylor Swift song. 

The return of Heartstopper on the paid video streaming platform Netflix will allow fans to witness the continuation of the story of Nick (played by Kit Harrington) and Charlie (portrayed by Joe Locke) as they navigate the realms of their newly-built romance.

In the freshly-released trailer for the queer series, the main characters seem to be facing more serious dilemmas about their sexuality and identity as they handle their growing romance. 

Meanwhile, Tara (Corrina Brown) and Darcy (Kizzy Hedgel) will be confronting unforeseen challenges and Tao (William Gao) and Elle (Yasmin Finney) will be testing the waters if they can be more than just friends.

Additionally, Heartstopper creator Alice Oseman said the audience can expect more mature characters.

“In season two, the characters are all maturing in their romances, their identities, and their outlooks on life and the future,” Oseman said.

The characters will also feel a little older and wiser, and with that will come a whole host of new experiences and emotions, they said.

The creator also said the series would discuss queer relationships on a deeper level while diving into the complexities of coming out and coming to terms with one’s sexuality.

In an interview with Radio Times, Oseman said the series would explore Isaac’s sexuality (Tobie Donovan), noting that “asexuality will be discussed on TV in a big way.”

“I hope when it happens in Heartstopper, it doesn’t feel like a lesson,” Oseman said. “You know Isaac, you care about him, and now you’re going to learn something new about him,” they said.

Heartstopper Season 2 will be available on Netflix starting August 3. It will adapt the second and third volumes of Oseman’s graphic novel of the same title.

Taylor on ‘Heartstopper’ OST?

As fans await the new season of the hit television series, rumors emerged that 12-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift will be featured in Hearstopper’s soundtrack.

In a review posted on YouTube, Tyler Calvert said the artists who will be on the soundtrack include the American pop superstar and the English pop rock band The 1975.

Swift and The 1975 frontman Matty Healy recently sparked dating rumors, but neither of them confirmed or denied their relationship.

Meanwhile, there has been no official announcement about the Taylor Swift feature on Heartstopper’s OST.
