First 4 entries to MMFF 2023 officially announced

The first four official entries to the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) have officially been announced, Monday, July 10.

One of the four movies is K[Ampon], a horror-thriller movie under Quantum Films under the direction of King Palisoc and script writing of Dodo Dayao. The movie stars Beauty Gonzalez and comebacking actor Derek Ramsay who has been vocal about his semi-retirement from showbiz.

Meanwhile, showbiz royal couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera return to the silver screen via the Mae Cruz-Alviar romance drama Rewind. The Kapuso king and queen have both expressed their excitement not only at working together once again, but doing a project with Star Cinema, the film outfit of ABS-CBN.

In an interview, Rivera also uttered her delight at working with Cruz who has directed her husband in the 2013 romance film She’s The One

Matteo Guidicelli as Pedro Penduko

Matteo Guidicelli stars in the latest iteration of Pedro Penduko. The revival of the classic Pinoy fantasy movie Penduko has him co-star with fellow Viva Artist Agency talent Cristine Reyes.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta collaborates with Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards in the family drama A Mother and Son’s Story directed by Nuel Naval and written by Mel Mendoza-Del Rosario.

In an interview, Cuneta shared how delighted she is to work with Richards whom she said she shares numerous similarities with which caught her by surprise since it’s not exactly the case with her own kids.

Richards meanwhile recently quickly came to Cuenta’s defense after the latter got bashed on social media for teasing actress and love team partner Maine Mendoza to him during the singer’s guesting on new Kapatid noontime show E.A.T

He also said that he would not be entertaining any guesting invite on any noontime show that would go against the new TV5 blocktimer as his respect and show of loyalty to legendary trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon and the rest of the legit Dabarkads

The annual Metro Manila Film Festival opens on Christmas Day.
