Nearly 70,000 positions will be available at job fairs the government will host in connection with the 125th anniversary of Philippine independence on June 12.
This year, there will be 48 job fair sites offering 68,455 job openings across the country, according to the Department of Labor and Employment on Wednesday. At least 840 employers will take part in the job fairs.
“The data is as of June 4 only and the number of vacancies is expected to increase in the succeeding days,” the DOLE said.

Pre-Independence Day job fairs will also be conducted at the Western Philippines University, Aborlan, Palawan on June 7; Western Philippines University, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on June 9; and SM City Rosales, Pangasinan on June 11.
Post-Independence Day job fairs will be held at NCCC Mall, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on June 19; and STI College, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on June 20.
The DOLE encouraged jobseekers to be ready with their application requirements, such as resume or curriculum vitae, certificate of employment for those formerly employed, diploma, and transcript of records.
