5 things you don’t know about Jane de Leon

Kapamilya actress Jane de Leon is the face of Filipina heroine Darna today, and she is flying high in her career. 

Before her meteoric showbiz debut, Jane first joined various beauty pageants and tried modeling stints, where she was eventually discovered. 

Despite the hardships, Jane was able to penetrate showbiz. Given her beautiful face and her determination to be a better actress every day, she will surely go places. 

In one media conference, Jane recalled her humble beginnings when she and her mother would commute from Laguna to ABS-CBN in Quezon City to attend acting workshops. 

After landing the role in 2019, the 24-year-old actress has been very dedicated in her preparations for the part. From strict diets to working out and fighting rehearsals, Jane did everything to give Darna justice. 

Now, she enjoys the fame and glory that came with being Darna, but many are still curious about how she is in real life. 

So here are some things you might not know yet about Jane de Leon:

1. Jane de Leon loves to play the drums

Yes, she flies, beats up bad guys, and has badass drumming skills. In an Instagram video showing her playing the drums, she caught the attention of American singer-songwriter Austin Mahone who praised her for her impressive talent.  

Her love for drumming started when her brother became active at church. As she attended various worship services, she was introduced to playing the instrument. 

2.Jane knows the basic Korean language

Another talent people don’t know about Jane is her ability to understand and speak the basic Korean language. Credit that to her love for all things Korean. 

3. Jane has the potential for directorial vision

Not only does Jane have a passion for acting, she too dreams of eventually switching positions from the front of the camera to the back. She gets inspired by how cinematic pieces are put together to make a masterpiece and hopes to make one in the future. 

4. Jane is a certified animal lover

Yes, she, too, is a certified fur mom. In a video of her in 2021, she revealed that animals are her first love. She shared that at their home, they have dogs, birds, cats, and rabbits to the point that their house almost looked like a zoo.

Her cats alone are already numbering 12. 

5. Jane loves to go out to eat

Yes, even a woman with a body like hers loves food and lots of it. 

But just as mentioned, it wasn’t always rainbows and butterflies for Jane. During her pre-Darna days, they came to a point when her family only ate rice with salt or rice with soy sauce to at least channel the taste of the classic Pinoy dish adobo. 

Now, she and her family enjoy eating their heart’s desires.
