Team Vice Ganda, Jackie, Cianne share childhood dreams in ‘Magpasikat 2023’

by Joanna Deala

“IT’S Showtime” hosts Vice Ganda, Jackie Gonzaga and Cianne Dominguez gave a heart-tugging performance as they revealed their childhood dreams on the fourth day of “Magpasikat 2023.”

The trio had an out-of-this-world-themed opening number with Vice Ganda rocking a futuristic costume and introducing himself as “Dreams,” while the song “A Head Full Of Dreams” by British rock band Coldplay played in the background.

“I am Dreams. I am the descendant of future and the ancestor of victory. I am the mother of goals and ambitions. I teach my children to imagine and aspire, to believe and reach, but most of all, I bestow upon them the power to choose and to fulfill,” the host said.

A video playback was then shown on screen, featuring kids who shared their various dreams with their mothers. Some of them wanted to become a doctor, painter, baker, reporter, basketball player, among others.

A young Jackie appeared in the video and told her mother about her dream of becoming a flight attendant. But instead of flying in an airplane, the adult Jackie flew on stage as she showcased her dancing skills through an aerial dance act.

A young Cianne, meanwhile, shared with her mom that she wanted to be a beauty queen. But destiny had other plans for the adult Cianne, who is gifted not only with physical beauty but also a lovely voice.

Cianne blessed the ears of the madlang people with her own rendition of Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful.”

Young Vice Ganda had wanted to become a lawyer to defend the oppress, but fate led the adult Vice to another career path. He became one of the brightest Kapamilya stars, breaking record after record in the entertainment industry.

The performance gave the trio the opportunity to face their younger selves and to send them a message with the help of a hologram.

The hosts told their younger selves that despite them not being able to reach their childhood dreams, they are happy and content with what they have achieved.

The hosts and viewers became more emotional as the trio’s mothers appeared onstage to express how proud they were of their children.

Team Vice, Jackie and Cianne wrapped up their touching act with their rendition of “A Million Dreams” from the 2017 musical film “The Greatest Showman.”

Vice, Billy reconcile

During this performance, the three hosts were joined by several children and parents onstage.

But audiences and other “It’s Showtime” hosts were surprised when their former co-hosts Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia appeared onstage with their son Amari.

Vice then confirmed that he and Billy are now on good terms, following their “Magpasikat 2023” production number.

“Okay na okay na kami ni Billy,” he said.

The comedian revealed that the reunion between him and the former “It’s Showtime” host was actually his team’s gift to the madlang people. He said that this could inspire other people to reconcile with important people in their lives and find healing.

Kasi si Billy is one very important person sa buhay ko,” stressed Vice.

He added, “At the end of the day, you’re my best friend and I love you very much.”

Billy, on the other hand, narrated that it was his father who advised him to reconcile with Vice.

Billy left “It’s Showtime” in 2018 and became a host of the now-defunct noontime show, “Lunch Out Loud.” Rumors about the rift between Billy and Vice sparked when the two unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Lahat ng pamilya nagkakaaway, nagkakalabuan, but at the end of the day, in God’s time, siya na rin ang bahalang mag-ayos,” Billy said.

Kaya on my end, I want to say, I’m sorry. I’m sorry, madlang people. I’m sorry, Kapamilya. Magpapakumbaba lang ako na gagawin ko kasi ang lahat para sa aking pamilya, and kasama na rin po kayo doon madlang people,” he continued.

Billy also turned to Vice and said, “I just wanna say, Vice, I love you.” The two then shared a hug on stage.

The team of Kim Chiu, Jhong Hilario and Ion Perez will be the last to perform for the show’s “Magpasikat 2023” tomorrow, November 10.
