Sports analyst Trinidad releases 4-point recommendation for Amores brawl

by Jericho Zafra

MANILA, Philippines – Former Philippine Basketball League (PBL) Commissioner and veteran sports analyst Chino Trinidad released a four-point recommendation after Jose Rizal University’s forward John Amores lost his cool in a Tuesday match with De La Salle-College of St. Benilde.

Among the recommendations Trinidad mentioned were Amores’ automatic expulsion from the JRU varsity team, school suspension, anger management counseling, and temporary withdrawal from social media.

“Parang sa iskwela, ‘pag sinuntok mo nga ‘yung kaklase mo suspended ka agad eh ‘pag malala ‘yung naging effect pwede ka nang diretso expelled ‘di ba. From suspension to expulsion, depende sa gravity of the incident,” Trinidad.

However, in an exclusive interview with Trinidad, he said Amores needs JRU’s support at this time as the embattled Amores might become beaten up with bashing online.

“Sana makatulong in whatever manner kasi gusto kong makita yung bata na maka-recover,” said Trinidad.

Amores of the Heavy Bombers charged past the CSB bench and punched Mark Sango, Jimboy Pasturan, and Taine Davis of the Blazers. What specifically caused Amores to lose his cool is unknown. He later apologized online for his action during the game but deleted the post afterward.

CSB Blazers won the game with a final score of 71-51.
