Ben & Ben apologizes: ‘We hear you, we feel your pain’

by Athena Yap

AFTER  receiving tremendous backlash online, OPM band Ben&Ben issued an apology to their fans who had an allegedly “stressful” experience at their “Ben & Ben Homecoming Concert 2022” held at the SMDC Festival Grounds last Sunday, December 18.

Concertgoers voiced their frustrations on social media. They  posted pictures and videos to show  their experience about the long line to get in, the non-compliance with the seating arrangement, and the delay in the concert.

On Tuesday, December 20, the local band wrote a statement acknowledging the complaints of the audience.

“We hear you. We feel your pain, frustration and anger,” they wrote on Facebook.

The band members assured their fans that they would  be more vigilant next time with regard to the people involved in the preparation of their future events.

“We will be more vigilant with everyone involved in the planning and preparations of our concerts to ensure that what happened won’t happen again, most especially to you, our Liwanag,” they said.

Following the statement, fans accepted the apology and expressed their love for the band despite the uncertainties they went through during the concert.

Other fans said that the struggle was worth it when they got to see the performance of their idols.

During the event, it was described as “the worst concert” for some who came and called out the concert organizer, Ovation Productions.

Paolo Valenciano, the show’s director, said there were 65,000 attendees at the concert.

Some celebrities who were featured in the concert were KZ Tandingan, Zild Benitez, Clara Benin and JK Labajo.

Ben & Ben is a folk pop/pop rock band which started in 2015 and reached its peak in 2018 when it released and sang the “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral” song “Susi,” and the “Exes Baggage” official soundtrack “Maybe The Night.”
