PH bets crowned Mr. & Ms. World Universe International 2023

by Joyce Remo

PHILIPPINE candidates Joshua Azares, 23, and Hannah Grace Galvez, 17, brought home the bacon!

The duo were crowned this year’s male and female division winner of the World Universe International competition held in Vietnam held last Friday.

The pageant host initially announced that the candidate from Myanmar was the grand winner for the female division. She later on corrected her mistake and eventually hailed Galves as the new title holder.

Aside from the grand titles, Azares took home the best talent award, while Galvez was recognized as the competition’s best formal wear and best interview.

The Philippine bets also bagged the best national costumes.

In a Facebook post, Azares expressed immense gratitude toward those who supported his journey.

“I still find it hard to believe that I’m going home to the Philippines with this title, given how rapidly events are moving. I sincerely appreciate all of your support and prayers at each step of my journey,” he wrote.

“I apologize if I can’t thank each of you one by one or respond to your posts, comments, or messages, but I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your support,” he added.

Aside from Azares and Galvez, other representatives from the country also took home the grand prizes for their respective divisions.

Shadelle Saguisag, 12, was named the grand winner of the Miss Pre-Teen World Universe International, while Marjorie Aniban, 17, snatched the Miss Teen World Universe International crown.

Saguisag was also awarded with the best swimsuit and best national costume awards.

Both divisions were also awarded during the same night.
