MALACAÑANG has declared half-day work in government offices on Holy Wednesday, March 27, to allow state employees to properly observe Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
The work suspension begins at 12 p.m.
“However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services,” stated Memorandum Circular 45 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Monday.
It is up to the employers in private offices and firms to decide whether to suspend work, the circular said.
