THE Philippine National Police will impose a no-fly zone as part of the security measures for the annual procession of the image of Black Nazarene in Manila on January 9.
PNP chief Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr. made the announcement on Wednesday following a meeting with Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, representatives from other concerned agencies, and Quiapo Church officials.
Acorda also said the PNP may also use a signal jammer during the traslacion if necessary.
Around 15,000 police personnel will be deployed for the Feast of Black Nazarene, which is expected to draw millions of people as COVID-19 restrictions have already been lifted.
