PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said that he is hoping the old school calendar will be back “by next year.”
Marcos said he has already asked the Department of Education on how they will go about it.
The Chief Executive made the remarks when asked about the Department of Education’s proposal to bring back the old school calendar amid the ongoing El Niño heatwaves.

According to Marcos he saw the urgent need to shift to the old school calendar, meaning June to March.
“I don’t see any objections, especially with El Niño being what it is. Every day you turn on the news, F2F classes are postponed,” said Marcos.
Asked when it will be implemented, Marcos said, “Hopefully by next year, yes, matatapos na.”
He did not specify as to if it will be for the following year (2025) or the next school year, which begins in 2024 and ends in 2025.
