Man pulls gun on cyclist in road rage incident in QC

A video of a man who assaulted and pulled a gun on a cyclist along Welcome Rotonda in Quezon City has gone viral on Facebook.

Netizen Mr. BI Vlogs shared the video of the incident on August 8, which happened at around 6 p.m.

“The whole story was traffic and sumingit sa bike lane yung red Kia car, then muntikan masagi si biker,” the netizen wrote in the caption.

He went on, “Sa gulat ng biker natapik niya yung kotse at ito na ang kasunod na nangyari!”

In the clip, the man driving a red Kia vehicle was seen cutting across the cyclist on the bike lane. He pulled over and went out of his car to hit the biker on the head and curse him.

He was then seen pulling out a gun from his pants and loading it.

Atty. Raymond Fortun, the cyclist’s lawyer, also posted the incident on his Facebook page and said that he had obtained the name and address of the registered owner of the red car.

The cycling community is asking for help to identify the armed man who “appears to be a government employee, in light of a lapel pin,” Fortun said.

“He cut across this cyclist, assaulted [him], and pulled out a gun on the unarmed cyclist, a criminal offense under our penal laws,” the lawyer said.

“The cyclist wants to file criminal charges but forgot to get the car’s license plate out of fear for his life,” he added.

Fortun said that the car plate has already been identified, and it was found out that it was not registered for 2023.

The car driver has already surrendered to the authorities, according to a report by Super Radyo dzBB, citing the Quezon City Police District, on Sunday.
