WALANG PASOK! Manila suspended classes in public schools on October 4, Friday

THE Manila City Government on Thursday said that as part of the celebration for the World Teacher’s Day, classes in public schools had been suspended on Friday, OCtober 4, 2024.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna said that the suspension covers classes in all public daycare centers, elementary schools, and high schools, as well as classes at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and Universidad de Manila.

“Executive Order No. 33 was signed by the mayor on October 3 to give recognition to the efforts of public school teachers in the city and to give them a wellness day,” the announcement said.

“Teachers are requested to provide activity sheets or modules for the intended lesson on that day,” it added.

Presently, the city government is calling on private schools in the area “to give the same honor to their faculty.”
