THE Philippine National Police had appealed to Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to show an act of humility by sparing his followers from more “emotional heartaches” by having them witness and serve as human barricades for the embattled religious leader who authorities believe as to be hiding inside his 30-hectare property in Davao City.
PNP Spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo issued the appeal during an interview over radio station DZBB.
“Ang patuloy nating pakiusap kay Pastor Quiboloy, na spare his supporters, spare them of the emotional heart aches…
It will be recalled that during Saturday morning some 2000 members of the PNP arrived at the KOJC compound in Davao City.
They were there to serve an arrest warrant on Quiboloy and others.
Fajardo then said that they had to raise the numbers of authorities as the KOJC members often put up stiff resistance when police attempts to search the 30-hectare property for Quiboloy and several others.
“Grabe ang resistance nila (Quiboloy’s supporters). Talagang there’s an attempt to delay the movement of the PNP na naatasang maghalughog kung saan pinaniniwalaang nandun si Quiboloy at ‘yung 4 na iba pa,” the police official said.
Likewise, Fajardo noted that police personnel had been at the tail end of various types of abuse from the KOJC followers.
Despite the opposition, Fajardo maintained that the PNP is in the search for the “long haul” and are rotating their personnel after a 24 hour period.
Police informants had said that Quiboloy and the 4 others are hiding inside the sprawling KOJC compound.
“Let us remind of everyone.
“Pastor Quiboloy should exercise moral high ground to face his accusers in the proper forum… the PNP is open to a dialogue,” she added.
