JUST as on Christmas Day, the country should expect to welcome New Year’s Eve with another stretch of rainy weather, as reported by the state weather bureau PAGASA.
According to the PAGASA weather report, different weather systems will bring cloudy skies and light rain to various parts of the country. This may even extend till New Year’s Eve.

“Maraming lugar ang magkakaroon ng pag-ulan overnight. Ito po ay dahil pa rin sa iba’t ibang weather system,” PAGASA Weather Forecaster Benison Estareja said in an interview with a media.
“Parang ganito lang din na madalas na makulimlim, may mga tsansang pagulan sa Metro Manila,” he added on the talks of the chances of having a rainy New Year’s Eve in the National Capital Region.
According to PAGASA, the Shear Line will affect eastern Central and Southern Luzon, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao, and the Northeast Monsoon will affect Northern and Central Luzon.

The shear line is predicted to bring cloudy skies, occasional rainfall, and isolated thunderstorms to Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes.
The same weather affects Visayas, the Zamboanga Peninsula, the remainder of MIMAROPA, the rest of Bicol Region, Caraga, Davao Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, and Lanao del Sur, but only owing to the ITCZ.
The Cordillera Administrative Region and the remainder of Cagayan Valley will get cloudy skies with rains, while the Locos Region and the rest of Central Luzon will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains from the Northeast Monsoon.
Meanwhile, Estareja stated that the rest of the country, although not being included on the list of impacted areas, can experience sporadic rains as the year comes to a close.
“To the rest of the country, asahan pa rin ang pulupulong pag-ulan, bahagyang maulap na kalangitan at ‘yung mga thunderstorms lang na 1-2 hours,” Estareja said.
“Ang pinaka uulanin pa rin po ay yung Eastern Visayan, Caraga Region at Bicol,” the PAGASA forecaster went on to say.
No matter how rainy it is, PAGASA indicated that they are not tracking any typhoons or Low Pressure Areas in and near the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
