EVER encountered an open parking but a person standing saying they reserved it?
Such incidents will no longer be allowed in Metro Manila as the Metro Manila Council (MMC) said that they are planning to create an ordinance that would penalize people who are standing on parking slots.
“As soon as possible, aaralin lang namin mabuti ,” Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairperson Romando Artes said.
He said that the 17 local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila are expected to pass a uniform ordinance prohibiting and likewise penalizing people who are seen standing on parking slots reserving them.
“Magco-coordinate tayo sa mga may-ari ng mga malls at yung mga private parking para ma-institutionalize din ito at mapagbawalan. Kasi kalimitan doon din nag-aagawan sa mga private parking,” Artes said.
Artes noted that said the MMC came up with the idea after receiving reports of violent incidents due to fights over parking lots.
