Grade 8 student in Paranaque killed by classmate over makeup kit

Deadly argument over two minors in Parañaque city

by Kiko Cueto

A problem over makeup.

Trivial as it may sound but deadly as a female minor was killed over it.

This was how authorities detailed the brutal stabbing of a grade 8 male student to his classmate using a kitchen knife inside school premises in Paranaque City.

In a radio interview, Parañaque City assistant police chief Lt. Col. Eric Angustia was quoted as saying that the incident stemmed from a disagreement with the 15-year-old  suspect and the 14-year-old victim.

“Nag-ugat daw sa humihiram daw ng make-up yung suspek na hindi niya pinahiram. Kaya nagkaroon sila ng alitan ng suspek,” Angustia said of the investigation.

Angustia said that the victim was even able to run away and asked for help from a teacher after she was stabbed in a classroom at the Moonwalk National High School on Wednesday evening, March 26.

“Nakatakbo pa yung biktima pero hinabol pa ng suspect. Nakahingi lang tulong nang may nakadaan na security guard at may tanod na naka-duty doon sa baba,” he said.

The police report also said that the victim was brought to the Ospital ng Parañaque but was declared dead on arrival due to the stab wounds.

A total of 4 stab wounds were recorded using a 10-inch knife.

Angustia also said that the victim had  complained to her mother on Tuesday that the suspect was seen as carrying a concealed kitchen knife.

The school is now under investigation as they are intending to know as to how a weapon was brought to the school.

The suspect, who has been tagged as a child in conflict with the law (CICL), was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Charges of homicide will be charged against the youth.

Meanwhile, the Moonwalk National High School said that they will be cooperating with authorities, saying the case was an “isolated” incident.
