Boy scouts electrocuted in Zamboanga; 3 dead

THREE out of the 15 boy scouts who were electrocuted while setting up camp during the 2024 Council Scout Jamboree at the Climaco Freedom Park in Pasonanca, Zamboanga City died.

The remaining 12 others were injured during the incident.

Based on the information from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the boy scouts were said to be transferring their tent to another area.

However, a part of the tent accidentally touched a live wire.

Meanwhile, the injured boy scouts were reported to have electrical burns but are in safe condition.

The local government immediately cancelled the four-day activity from December 12 to 15, 2024.

It was attended by around 2,000 boy scouts in the city.
